    Posted 25 days ago

    Good Morning All,

we are developing a class for our soon to graduate clinical MSW students on professionalism and licensure prep. Anyone have a class like this that they are willing to share their syllabus or other resources?

    Anything would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

I hold a morning (2-3 hours) mandated event and call it Student Interns' Readiness Day. I have our Career Center come in and talk to them about professionalism and then discuss with the students things like boundaries, ethical standards, etc. This is prior to students entering their internships.

I also host a two-day licensure prep day for our graduating students (both undergraduate and graduate). I also open this up to community, as I found there are several individuals who have not pursued their license but are now ready to move forward. Usually, I seek funding for this through a faculty member grant to pay for the seminar. We do not charge our students or community member, although in the past we did and this paid for the seminar/instructor.

Hello! We have a course that we created several years ago called 'Clinical Leadership and Professional Development'. It's gone through a few iterations to where it is now, which is focused on bridging the transition from being a student to figuring  out next steps in professional development. Part of that is licensure prep. We also talk about resumes, certifications, job hunting, etc. They do a project that is supposed to tie together elements from their time in the program to highlight what they have learned and how it applies in practice.

    Hello everyone,

I'd be interested in receiving the same as I'd love to be able to use it as a guide in developing a similar course for my program. Thanks in advance and have an amazing day.

Hello! I'm attaching the syllabus from a year or two ago. With this class we've been continually adjusting it to better suit the ultimate goal. The licensure prep has been a big struggle to do effectively and it's an ongoing effort!
