    Hello friends and colleagues!

My colleague and I are conducting this research study examining field instructors' perspectives on disability justice, gatekeeping responsibilities, and decision-making in social work field education. The study seeks to better understand how field instructors navigate the complex balance between supporting student success, ensuring professional competence, and addressing disability-related accommodations in practicum settings.

As we begin reviewing our preliminary data, the findings are already reinforcing our belief in the importance of this work. Field instructors are providing thoughtful perspectives on disability justice, gatekeeping responsibilities, and ethical decision-making in field education. We believe these insights will make a meaningful contribution to the ongoing conversations about supporting students while maintaining the integrity of the social work profession.

To ensure that the study reflects the diversity of field education experiences nationwide, we are continuing to recruit additional participants. If you would be willing to share the attached survey with your chapter members through your listserv, newsletter, or other communication channels, we would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Thank you again for your support of this project and for all that you do to strengthen the social work field education. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the study.
