Field Directors

Hi all,

I hope you're doing well.  I am organizing the materials we use to work with students on a remediation plan after a practicum disruption/termination.  I wondered if folks would be willing to share any articles, task exemplars, worksheets, etc. that you use with your students that I could include in our resources for Faculty Liaisons.

Hi Wendy - 

I find that most placement terminations are a result of issues with Comp. 1 Ethical and Prof'l Behavior, oftentimes a lack of appropriate boundaries on the part of the student.  I have used the attached NASW publication on Setting and Maintaining Professional Boundaries and had students write a reflection paper.

I use a Field Concern Report/ Performance Improvement Plan.

It has two purposes: 1. it documents the behaviors/competencies the student should be demonstrating and 2. it documents that the student knows what they need to do to improve. In all but one case, where I have used this, the student corrects anything that needs correcting and completes the placement.
