Hello Cheryl,
Congratulations on your university's approval for online BSW and MSW programs! There are several resources that you might find extremely helpful as you begin to build your programs. The first is NANFED. NANFED offers a repository with a wide range of resources that field and practicum directors have generously shared with those who are members. Another resource is the Social Work Distance Education Field Consortium. Similar to the local consortium that your land-based program likely belongs to, this consortium is made up of programs across the country that offer online, distance and/or hybrid programs. Lastly, the Social Work Distance Education Conference is held virtually each April. It offers ideas for teaching, building community and administering field/practicum education in online programs. I hope you find these resources to be helpful to you and your colleagues as you embark on developing your online programs.
Take care,
Michelle

Our university just received approval for online BSW and MSW programs. For those of you who are conducting online social work education can you provide guidance on how you identify appropriate practicum placements, how do you provide affiliation agreements with those sites and how do you do clearances for students? Thank you all in advance.
