  • 1.  New York SIFI training requirements

Good morning! I am trying to find some guidance from other NY MSW program field coordinators and directors on how they structure their SIFI training. I have not been able to locate the state regs regarding what this mandatory training should include. Our previous field director created a SIFI course through our online LMS, but I worry that it is not detailed enough (it only takes about an hour to complete, which seems to be very brief considering other schools' SIFI trainings).

I'd appreciate any help or feedback!

    Hi Leigh Ann,

I don't have any answers for you, but I'd love to know what you learn? It's on my radar as well.

    Thanks!

    Hi Leigh Ann,

I'm in the same boat as you except that my program is brand spanking new and I have NOTHING to go by for the SIFI training. We're in NY as well. I'm not sure what to do. I think I may reach out to NYSED since this is mandatory for NY institutions.

Thanks, Jessica! If you find out who to talk to about this, please let me know. I haven't been able to find any information on SIFI regs on the NYSED website, but it may just be buried somewhere I haven't discovered yet. NYSED doesn't make things easy! Feel free to email me directly at lahewes@utica.edu.
