Assistant Professor / Master Social Work
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary:
Colorado Mesa University invites applications for a full time, 9 month time tenure track position. This position is for an Assistant Professor Social Work in the Master of Social Work Program.
Colorado Mesa University is in the accreditation process with CSWE. CMU is seeking candidates with a demonstrated interest in social work education and professional development. Candidates must be willing to teach a wide range of generalist and advanced practice courses. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to professional social work through a focus on high quality teaching, community service, advising, and scholarship. The faculty member is expected to share in program activities, including but not limited to assist with initial candidacy including Benchmark I, II, and III of accreditation, curriculum assessment, and student recruitment/admissions. As a faculty member in the department, this position is also responsible for scholarship, student advising, teaching, and service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned):
• This position will be required to assist with initial candidacy including Benchmark I, II, and III of CSWE accreditation.
• This position will teach 12 credits per semester in core and/or elective social work courses.
• The ability to teach in person, Socratic and didactic.
• This position will engage in MSW Student Academic Advising and Professional Social Work Advising.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
• MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
• Two years post-MSW practice experience
• Experience teaching in higher education
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience with CSWE Accreditation
• 5 years of clinical experience and practice in social work
• PhD or DSW in Social Work
• Current LCSW, LICSW and/or Independent licensure within Social Work
• Professional and/or Academic Advising experience
