    Hi everyone,

We currently use Experiential Learning Cloud (Luminova, aka Tevera), and with the changes to their fee structure, we are finding it less and less affordable. I also don't think it is very intuitive or user-friendly.  The back and forth I need to do to get support is also time-consuming.  We have been on it for about 2-3 years, and before that, we used IPT (?) for a couple of years.  We are a midsize undergraduate fully online program that graduates about 24 students per year (to provide some context). What are other schools using?

Appreciate any thoughts or considerations on this!

    Hello,

I do not know if it will help but we are in the process of moving to the Exxat system. I cannot speak to its functionality, however a couple of programs within our college have been using it therefore our college has decided to move everyone to it. We have been using IPT for several years and it is not not what we need any more.

    Hi All,

I too am looking for something new. We have been using SONIA and it is so outdated and time-consuming. I was wondering if we upgrade to the Experiential Learning Cloud if it would be better, but based on what Retchenda mentioned, I am now questing that.
I also checked out the Project Concert at  CSWE APM. Has anyone tried Project Concert or SimCare's field experience management platform? I will look into EXXACT. Any other feedback would be great! Thank you in advance.

We have such a limited budget that we are about to implement IPT. We just started our new MSW program (we have been a BSW-only program since 1984) so we expect our numbers to go up from 30-35 graduates per year to about 60/year. I am the Field Education Director. I'm "it" for the field program so I need something to help keep things organized. We might be able to move to something a bit more fancy in the future as the College we are under is interested in seeing if we can combine our student fees and funding into one platform for most of our degree programs. Almost all of the degree programs in our entire college have clinicals or practicum/internships. My husband is actually the Internship Coordinator in his Department (same college as me).

    Hi all,

I'm late to this conversation but just wanted to chime in and share a bit more information about Exxat - @Retchenda George-Bettisworth I think we met in New Orleans last week at BPD! I've been the field director at WCU, in North Carolina, since 2017 and am transitioning into a social work specialist role with Exxat. We've had a great experience working with their team (I wouldn't be going to work for them if we hadn't!) and have found it to be really intuitive and user-friendly for students and field instructors. Students can complete their timesheets and evaluations on an app, and I almost never get questions from them on how to use it...and field instructors respond and approve things using a direct link that's sent to them via email. Their customer service is super responsive as well - there's a 24/7 chat feature and each program has a dedicated account manager you can reach out to with more complex questions.

@Angela Wood we're also part of a college with many clinical/experiential programs - and we bundle the Prism fee for students into a tuition differential for students in our College. That way, if they have financial aid they can use it as part of their tuition rather than having to pay out of pocket. And I don't know all of the details but I know that Exxat does negotiate discounted rates when multiple programs from the same university are on board - I can definitely connect you with someone who can give you more information about that if it's helpful!

@Aisha Coulson-Walters if y'all are already in the onboarding process I'm sure we will meet soon - but feel free to reach out if there's anything I can do to help as you are getting started!

    Thanks,
    Katy

This is very helpful information, so Western Michigan University (WMU) is switching to EXXAT from IPT. We have so far had a great training experience.

Congrats on your new role, Katy! As an Exxat user, I'm happy to see we will have a social work specialist as a resource. I have been using Prism in my new role at Moravian and it's been a great experience. I echo what others have said about the responsiveness of support and the training process was excellent! Happy to talk with anyone about my experience using Exxat for those considering it.

We are using ELC and looking to transition to Exaat.  Our nursing program uses it already.  I met with them at BPD Conference and they have hired a social worker to help with the language and meeting the needs of social work programs more effectively.
