Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well.
At Wayne State University, we use Liaisons as part of our practicum support structure. These staff members follow and support students throughout their placement. Liaisons are paid on a per-credit basis and work with up to nine students per credit. Some carry the maximum load of four credits each semester. In total, we place more than 600 students per year.
Our Liaisons differ from our Placement Assistants, who handle the actual placement process matching students with organizations and coordinating initial connections.
I would love to learn more about how your programs place students and how you oversee them once they are in their practicum. How is this work structured at your institution, and how are those roles compensated?
I truly appreciate your insights and feedback, as Wayne State may need to make some adjustments to our process, and I'm gathering ideas from other schools.
Thank you in advance!
Dr. Carr
