I am wondering if CSWE may have some good information for us, after looking over their queries at the Denver Conference.

Thank you, Nan!
I wondered, what questions are field directors asking/ what information is being shared on the field placement application, to take a proactive approach in supporting students with disabilities who may need accommodations in field?

This is such a great topic for us as Field Directors!!!
We want to be ADEI compliant, and supportive. However, important policies must be in place, considering an ADEI group I sat with, and a student situation I have experienced.
I have some thoughts but wondering what our abilities are with students who have accommodations, which conflict with being a professional social worker, and the time constraints we often must adhere to.
I am looking forward to further discussion, and experienced guidance:)
Nan

Hello,
Professor Penny McQuinn and I are presenting at this year's CSWE APM in a workshop around ethical challenges in preparing struggling students for field placement. This is a popular and complex topic and we are excited to exchange ideas and hear from everyone through the conference and then continue the conversation here!
This is a place to share your thoughts, references, and assessment tools and rubrics.
How do we balance our duty to uphold professional standards with our obligation to support and accommodate students with disabilities, when those students may not meet professional standards for safe and competent practice?
