    Hi,

    We currently do not allow students to transport clients. I'm curious how common this is? If you do allow students to transport clients, how do you handle insurance and liability?

    Hi Michael, 

    The policy in my program is no transporting of clients by students.  Our program is 100% online, in all 50 states, so it's a bit much to manage regarding insurance and liability.  BTW I love the resources on your school's site for students.  Robyn

    We do not allow interns to transport clients as per university legal.  As interns, the students are not covered fully covered by either the agencies or the university and therefore the injunction is protective since it limits additional risks to them, e.g., lawsuits from passengers.

    We do not allow students to transport clients. Any students who use their vehicle during practicum hours are required to turn in proof of car insurance.

    Michael,

    We discourage it but are firm around not transporting clients in ones personal vehicle. If they are using an agency vehicle and it is part of the internship requirements, we allow it.
