    Good morning, all, I posted this message on February 5 and did not receive any responses; I know everyone is busy, but I value hearing from you! I am crafting an article about the shifting dynamics in field education in the context of emerging online programs both at the BSW and MSW levels. Professor Marion Bogo wrote a seminal article about Contemporary Challenges in Field Education in 2015 (see attached); 10 years later, the world has changed dramatically with the dramatic increase in online social work and field education programs. I would appreciate hearing from anyone about what you see as the contemporary challenges in field (practicum) education in the context of online learning.

    Below is my original post. I am writing this article now, and your thoughts, ideas, challenges, and inspirations are greatly appreciated! Katharine Dill (katharine.dill@marist.edu)

    Dear Colleagues,

    I am working on a Field Finds literature review for Field Educator that explores the research on field education in online BSW and MSW programs

    As I shape this review, I would love to hear from field directors, faculty, and practitioners about the key themes, challenges, and innovations you have observed in online BSW and MSW field education. Specifically, I would appreciate your insights on:

    1. Key Research & Resources – Are there foundational studies, reports, websites, podcasts or articles that should be included?
    2. Emerging Trends – What innovative approaches (e.g., employment-based placements, remote supervision models, simulation labs, technology-enhanced field learning, use of AI, paid internships, field instructors training, support, and retention) are programs used to ensure high-quality field education?
    3. Placement Challenges & Solutions – What are your challenges in securing and retaining practicums in the context of online learning;
    4. Accreditation & Standards – How do programs ensure online students meet CSWE competency-based field education requirements?

    I welcome any articles, experiences, or insights you can share. I would like to connect with you further to discuss your perspectives and, if appropriate, highlight examples of innovative practices in the literature review:

    Thank you in advance for your time and expertise! I look forward to your thoughts. Katharine Dill: katharine.dill@marist.edu
