Summary:
Colorado Mesa University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month clinical position. This position is for an Assistant Clinical Professor of Social Work/ Director of Clinical Practice, with primary assignment to the MSW Program.
Colorado Mesa University is looking for strong leaders in social work to assist with the development of clinical aspects of practice education to ensure compliance with CSWE accreditation standards. The standard teaching load is 18 graduate credit hours per year; however, due to this leadership role, this position will have a 50% load reduction. The faculty member is expected to contribute to social work program activities across both BSW and MSW programs, including but not limited to assisting with curriculum assessment, program support, and student admissions. As Director of Clinical Practice, this position will also require student supervision, professional service, and teaching.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Provide primary clinical direction to the social work programs, which includes:
- Clinical site recruitment;
- Vetting of clinical site supervisors; and
- Clinical placement site visits;
- Support Practice Education Director by providing leadership, direction, and management of practice education, which encompasses:
- Placement of students in agencies;
- Supervision and support to practice education faculty; and
- Supervision of students.
- Review and maintain practice education manuals, policies, orientations, and assessment tools for agency supervisors and students.
- Maintain standards and policies to remain in compliance with CSWE accreditation standards.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach in person, both Socratic and Didactic. The standard teaching load for this position is 9 credits per year in Seminar and direct practice courses.
- Facilitate student supervision oversight.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
- Possess an active LCSW in the state of Colorado
- At least two years of post-MSW clinical practice experience
- Experience in a supervisory role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in higher education
- PhD in Social Work or a DSW
- Previous experience with CSWE Accreditation
- Five years of clinical experience and practice in social work
- Professional and/or Academic Advising experience
Salary:
$70,000 - $80,000.
