Hello!
I am the new Director of Field Education at Clarke University. I have a question that is not directly related to field placements but thought some of you with BSW programs may have insight for me.
Our BSW program includes a Capstone course that all students are required to take in their final semester of their field placement. In its current format, this course revolves around each student conducting either a SWOT analysis or BPSS assessment at their field agency. We are hoping to restructure this course format to better encapsulate a reflection and compilation of the SW competencies, skills, and work a student has completed over the course of their social work education.
If anyone with a BSW program has a capstone course, I would love to hear more about your course format/requirements! We have considered having this class include the creation of a social work portfolio instead of the current projects, but we are contemplating how this would look while still ensuring to meet all the required CSWE competencies and our institution's program assessment requirements. Any insight anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Lauren
