Allan E. Barsky is a professor with the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, FL, USA. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (Canada) Faculty of Social Work, his MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University in New York City, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. His teaching and research interests include social work practice theory and skill development, pedagogy, conflict resolution, restorative justice, professional ethics, and services for people affected by substance use disorders. Dr. Barsky is an advocate for social justice, including for equality and respect for LGBTQ+ people and other groups that have been subjected to discrimination and oppression.
