Bio

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Kiana Webb-Robinson earned her BSW degree from Alabama State University in 2005 and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama in 2011. Her social work practice knowledge includes child welfare, school-based therapy, juvenile justice, and consulting. Since transitioning to academia, Dr. Webb-Robinson has lectured and managed social work field education programs at the bachelors and masters level. Her university service included appointments to task forces centering on diversity and equity initiatives.

Dr. Webb-Robinson has presented and published on centering diversity, equity, and inclusion using critical race theory (CRT) with colleagues. While in the role as an Assistant Professor at Savannah State University, she earned her Doctorate of Social Work degree at the University of Kentucky in 2023. She has served and currently serves in local, state, and national roles for the profession as she seeks to link students locally, nationally, and globally.

During her tenure in Arkansas, she worked as a school-based therapist and social worker for South Arkansas Regional Mental Health Center after earning a Master of Social Work license (LMSW). In Athens, Georgia, she worked as a Coordinator for a grant-funded program known as SCORE, which provided therapeutic services to juvenile felons and their families through the state of Georgia Juvenile Court System and Advantage Behavioral Health Systems. Dr. Webb-Robinson entered higher education as a social work field director nine years ago at the request of a former mentor and professor.
