CSWE Government Relations (GR) is sharing the following engagement opportunity from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). CSWE GR is able to provide high-level context about this opportunity.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), as part of the NIH ADVANCE: Advancing Prevention Research for Health Equity Initiative, released a request for information (RFI) seeking input from interested parties regarding "practical and innovative interventions or programs that contribute to the primary or secondary prevention of mental health problems and promotion of mental health wellness in populations that experience health disparities". Of particular interest, are interventions that are beyond the traditional approach in mental health treatment in order to address social determinants of health. Examples of interested topics can be found in the full announcement. This RFI comes as a continued priority of the Biden-Harris Administration as the U.S. faces a mental health crisis affecting all age groups, populations, and geographic regions of the U.S.
