Social Work Education

At the end of this presentation, students will be able to provide a brief overview of national scope and trends of substance use disorder in the U.S. and explain the brain science, and identify the diagnostic criteria, for substance use disorder. They will also be able to define stigma and harm reduction and discuss the impact it has on substance use and misuse health outcomes – especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
