    The UM-Flint Social Work Department in the College of Health Sciences invites applications for a remote non-tenured Visiting Faculty appointment for 2026-2027. The successful candidate will teach a total of 12 credit hours across the appointment period in the online BSW and MSW programs.

    This is a teaching-focused visiting faculty appointment. Teaching assignments will be based on departmental needs and the candidate's areas of expertise. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching, student engagement, and preparing students for ethical, evidence-informed social work practice.

    The Visiting Faculty Member will be responsible for teaching assigned online courses in the Social Work Department during the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and/or Summer 2027 semesters. Specific course assignments and term distribution will be determined based on departmental needs.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Teach a total of 12 credit hours during the appointment period (Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and/or Summer 2027 semesters).
    • Prepare and deliver course content consistent with approved course objectives and program curriculum.
    • Use inclusive, student-centered, and evidence-informed teaching practices.
    • Provide timely feedback and evaluate student learning through assignments, exams, projects, practice simulations, or other appropriate measures.
    • Hold office hours or otherwise be available to support student learning.
    • Maintain regular communication with students and relevant program/department leadership.
    • Comply with departmental, school, and university policies related to instruction, grading, academic integrity, accessibility, and student support.
    • Coordinate with program leadership, as needed, to ensure course content aligns with accreditation standards and social work competencies.
    • Participate in department meetings related to teaching assignments and program coordination, as needed.

    Please note: This position does not include research, advising beyond course-related student support, or other service responsibilities.
