Greetings social work colleagues,
Members of the Southeastern Social Work Conference Planning Committee at UNC Pembroke are pleased to invite submissions for presentations and poster sessions for the 5th Annual Southeastern Social Work Conference. What better way to celebrate our 5th year bringing together social workers across the Southeast than hosting the event in person at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke on March 1st?
Because of the growing needs in our community, and the region, the committee has chosen this year's theme to be "Integrated Care and Health Equity: A Vision for the Future." We are excited to kick off National Social Work Month by hosting this conference which emphasizes the vital role of social work in fostering integrated healthcare and promoting health equity.
In an era of evolving healthcare systems and an increasing emphasis on holistic well-being, social workers play a crucial role in promoting integrated care and health equity at all practice levels. We invite proposals that explore innovative practices, research findings, and transformative strategies within social work practice that contribute to the vision of a future where healthcare is inclusive, comprehensive, and equitable.
Suggested Topics (a non-exhaustive list):
Effective practices with integrating mental health and primary care services
Addressing social determinants of health
Overcoming barriers to healthcare access
Ways to advance health equity and justice* through integrated care practices or interdisciplinary collaboration.
