La Salle University's Social Work Department is hiring a new tenure-track faculty member to join our growing BSW and MSW programs. Located in Philadelphia, La Salle is dedicated to teaching and learning that educates the whole person, and we are committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive learning community.
The Social Work Department at La Salle University seeks applicants for one (1) full-time, tenure-track position beginning in the summer of 2023. Come join a diverse campus community dedicated to advancing social justice and committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
The successful candidate will teach across the curriculum at the BSW and MSW levels, advise students, maintain an active research agenda and scholarly activity, and serve on department and university committees. The successful candidate will also participate in recruitment of students, promote program development, contribute to assessment efforts, and advise student organizations. Dependent on experience and interest, the candidate may serve in the role of Department Chair.
Required Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in Social Work or related field by time of appointment
- Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited institution and a minimum of two
- (2) years post-MSW experience
- A commitment to undergraduate and graduate social work education
- Ability to teach in varied formats (face-to-face, hybrid, online)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency with learning management systems and online field software
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of three years teaching experience at the graduate and/or undergraduate level
- Knowledge of CSWE educational and accreditation standards
