The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has issued a new advisory titled "Identification and Management of Mental Health Symptoms and Conditions Associated with Long COVID." This advisory examines the epidemiology of mental health side effects associated with Long COVID and issues evidence-based resources for assessment and treatment. Primary care practitioners and clinicians that treat patients with Long COVID are advised to follow guidance issued in the advisory during treatment of patients while best practices continue to evolve.
