The mandate is for federal offices; however, I won't be surprised if they want to penalize universities by threatening to remove federal financial aid dollars to schools with DEI. However, this is exactly why CSWE needs to remain steadfast in their requirements. I am currently teaching Policy, and my state has a law requiring professors to "show both sides" of all issues, unless there is a professional accreditation requirement. CSWE's policy is the only thing protecting me right now, lest I have to teach "the other side" of anti-racist political action (ie, white supremacy?). Standing firm in our professional values is more important now than ever. The demand for skilled social workers is higher than I have ever seen it, so we must leverage that demand by holding true to who we are. Resist!

Subject: Latest DEI Directive
Hi All,
How is CSWE handling the latest directive from the White House regarding scrubbing all DEI language within the next two weeks? I am really concerned about all of the social work education programs and how, collectively, we are handling this federal mandate.
Take care,
Wendy
