As educators, each of us brings our own stamp to the classroom. The Diversity Center seeks to provide an opportunity for social work educators to share their approaches to teaching diversity and justice. What are you most proud of?

We invite you to post your assignments, readings, classroom activities, student projects and reflections (with their permission), and any other current teaching and learning efforts. Tell us how you make your classroom a space where students feel like they really belong and what they find meaningful. Share memorable moments. And in a few words, tell us why teaching diversity and justice is important to you and what you are trying to achieve. We will highlight some of the ideas shared here in the Educator|Resource of the Month newsletter.

If you don't have a CSWESpark account, take a few minutes to create one. Just scroll down for instructions. If you need help, please email me at ypadilla@cswe.org.

As an Adjunct Instructor at UNC School of Social Work, Chapel Hill, along with my colleagues Anne Kelemen who teaches at MedStar and Terry Altilio, teaching in many venues, we put together a 5 part video/resource program addressing racism and inequities. This program is available to the public, which includes 5 conversation episodes between us as social workers, links to many enriching videos from experts in the field, and an extensive bibliography. We are hopeful that many educators will use these resources to compliment their curriculums and discussions.
The series: Reflections 2020 is available at www.seriousillnessconversations.org
