    Tennessee Wesleyan University is seeking applicants for a full-time Program Director of an accredited baccalaureate-level Social Work program beginning August 1st, 2025. The BSW Program Director will enter the University on the tenure track and at a faculty rank commensurate with academic experience; the new Director will provide vision, energy, and creativity for a hybrid program with the expectation of establishing an online program option. This 12-month position requires teaching commitments for the fall and spring semesters with the specific instructional load negotiable. Other responsibilities include managing curriculum, recruitment, retention, advising students, engaging in scholarship, and service to the department, the University, and the community. The BSW program has been granted initial accreditation through CSWE in 2019 for the in-seat format. The program underwent its requisite reaffirmation process in February 2023.

    Required Education/Experience

    • An earned MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program.

    • Two years of post-MSW practice experience (direct or community practice).

    • Experience teaching in higher education.

    • Experience in a leadership role.

    Preferred Education/Experience

    • Previous experience with CSWE/accreditation.

    • Ph.D. or DSW in Social Work.

    • Program or curricular development

    • Academic advising

    • Research scholarship.
