The NIH UNITE Initiative is hosting a workshop on Interdisciplinary Approaches to Understanding and Addressing Structural Racism and Health, which will bring together stakeholders from the social work, behavioral and mental health, education, and social science research communities to facilitate discussions on how to address the negative health impacts of structural racism in biomedical and behavioral studies.
This workshop series will include a set of panel presentations as well as opportunities for participants to engage in breakout sessions on the following topics:
- Methodology and measures for studying structural racism and health disparities
- Consequences of structural racism that affect health
- Strategies for productive cross-disciplinary partnerships
- Interventions to address the impact of structural racism on health
The workshop will take place virtually over two days: Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 10:30 am – 4:30 pm ET and Friday, July 19, 2024, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm ET. Registration for the event is available here.
