Hello! Our program does not have any additional fees attached to internships/practicums. As a department we pay for IPT (the system we use to track internship forms). We do not provide any stipends for students or agencies, though we certainly support agencies who can provide stipends for students. Our faculty in BSW receive 2 credits to teach seminar (we cap our courses at 8 students) and then there is a formula for liaisons (again this is handled by faculty). The liaison formula is: 1-4 students = 1 credit, 5-6 students = 2 credits, 7-8 students = 3 credits, 9-11 students = 4 credits, etc. Hope this information is helpful!

Subject: Course Fees/Field Instructor Stipends
Hello! I am wondering if I could get some input from other Field Directors of BSW programs regarding these topics?
Do you have fees attached to SOWK captioned courses in your program and if so, what are the things these are used for?
Do you have fees attached to courses that have internships/practicums built into them? If so, what are the variety of things these fees might be used for?
Finally, for your field instructors for those who do block placements (ranging from 20-40 hours a week for a student across one or two semesters) do you provide a stipend and if so, what is the monetary range?
We are a smaller program and have not required fees from our students in the past and have not provided stipends for Field Instructors. We are experiencing a necessity to begin doing this and I would appreciate your feedback.
