Social Work Education

CSWE Government Relations (GR) is sharing this scholarship program opportunity from the U.S. Department Veterans' Affairs (VA). Please note that this scholarship opportunity is only available for "currently enrolled or unconditionally accepted in an accredited academic program" in a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree program.  

The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) opened applications for the Health Professional Scholarship Program (HPSP). This program provides "financial assistance to students receiving education or training in a direct or indirect health-care services discipline" as well as "assists in providing an adequate supply of such personal" for the VA. Scholarships are determined and published according to the workforce needs of the Department. For Fall and Winter of 2025, the following professions are eligible: "Students that are currently enrolled or unconditionally accepted in an accredited academic program in physicians (MD/DO), social worker (MSW), psychologist (doctoral degree), and VIOMPSP."  

It is important to note that the scholarship requirements include a service obligation within the VA for a minimum of two years. More details on the application are available here.
