CSWE Government Relations (GR) is sharing the following resource from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). CSWE GR is able to provide high-level context about this event.
The National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Common Fund is holding a Transformative Health Disparities Research Initiative Community Listening Session Series. These listening sessions are to share and provide new input on opportunities, challenges, and community needs related to health disparities, minority health, and health equity. Throughout the series, various stakeholder groups will come together including colleges and universities, community-based organizations, advocacy organizations, professional societies, and others. The listening sessions give stakeholders the opportunity to discuss ideas for innovate methods of research and how these groups are actively engaged in research targeting social determinant factors like education, healthcare, financial resources, neighborhood environments, and social context impact health disparities.
These listening sessions are hosted by the NIH Common Fund's Transformative Research to Address Health Disparities and Advance Health Equity Initiative working group and are to take place at the end of the month and throughout November.
