Hi Amanda!
There's a consortium in New England, called NECON, who collaboratively developed SIFI materials and trainings many, many years ago. Some directors open their trainings up to those not directly supervising students, others do not. I'd be more than happy to connect you with the current NECON leadership and/or share materials used from my previous role if that would be helpful. Please reach out as needed! laura.krishnanmackie@colby-sawyer.edu!

Good afternoon!
Our program is fully online with our University's HQ in Chicago. Since we have students in the Northeast corridor, I often get asked by practicum supervisors if we offer the SIFI training, or supervisors who say they are SIFI trained and feel our orientation is redundant. We are not in the consortium of programs that use the SIFI training. Can someone offer insight on how we can become a part of that consortium, specifically to accommodate our students in that area? Any insight would be tremendously helpful, as I'm not even sure who to reach out to for guidance.
Thanks!
Amanda

Hi, Katharine! I am with Utica University, so not too far from you!
Our program is about four years old, and I updated our SIFI training earlier this year. I was never able to find anyone at OPS or even information online about how to get the training approved, so I just created my own for our field supervisors. I actually posted about this in Spark several months ago and received a few comments from NY field directors that they had the same issue. I'm happy to share what I have with you. Some of it is specific to our program, but much of it is just general supervision training for social workers.
I'd love to talk and share some ideas about this.
Leigh Ann
