  • 1.  Process for affiliating with new agencies

    Posted Mar 06, 2024 09:54

    Good morning,

I was hoping to hear from other programs what steps you take to affiliate with new agency partners. At Ohio State, we require an agency application, signed affiliation agreement, and we schedule a meeting to review our agency guide and expectations for working with social work students. We also require all field instructors to complete a 3 hour training before working with students.

Last year, we affiliated with 230 new agencies, and the new agency meeting is a heavy lift for our team. I am wondering if other programs do it differently or have thoughts about whether a meeting is necessary every time.

    Thanks in advance.

Our process is pretty similar. I recorded our supervisor orientation so that it's something I can just send out in the future but will continue to conduct initial one-on-one meetings with sites. I'd like to make the orientation available in Moodle so that I can track that sites have actually watched it.
