    CSWE Government Relations (GR) is sharing the following funding opportunity from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  CSWE GR is able to provide high-level context about this opportunity.

    The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) released a solicitation for Community-Driven Approaches to Address Factors Contributing to Structural Racism in Public Health.  This program aims to support the formation and implementation of innovative policies and practices to mitigate health disparities and address structural racism, and ultimately improve health outcomes in disadvantaged communities.  OMH encourages creating and utilizing community-focused, interdisciplinary teams to best examine and address the impacts of systemic policies and practices at the local level, with active engagement of the impacted populations.

    Projects should accomplish each of the following objectives:

    1. Assess policies and practices;
    2. Develop, modify, and implement policy and practice;
    3. Build a multi-sector team;
    4. Advise, assist, and train community stakeholders;
    5. Develop and implement an evaluation plan;
    6. Disseminate findings;
    7. Develop a sustainability plan and;
    8. Develop a disparity impact statement (DIS)

    OMH intends to issue six to ten awards of $300,000 - $500,000.  Applications are due July 15, 2022 by 6:00pm ET, and a technical assistance webinar will take place on June 9, 2022 at 3:00pm ET
