Binghamton University will celebrate work in the community with the Let Us Dream Conference on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 9:00AM EST via Zoom.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Uniting in Divisive Times
The world is facing significant challenges including social/economic impacts of an international pandemic, political polarization; calls for social justice, impacts of climate change and war. What are the forces that shape these interconnected issues, how do they impact us and how do we move forward as individuals and on the community level?
Anyone who is active supporting and strengthening the community through their work, knows the feeling of being overwhelmed and challenged. Join us for an engaging dialogue focusing on:
- How humans react to change and pressure;
- How we can overcome resulting divisions in social, medical and educational spaces;
- Discover what research tells us about the human brain's reaction to trauma and stress;
- How that data impacts life on the community level.
Two informative keynotes will be followed by three panels uniting educators, medical experts and program thought leaders who will dive deeper into how together we can find common purpose and make a positive impact.
The event is hosted by The Institute for Justice and Well-Being, Let Us Dream, the College of Community and Public Affairs, SUNY-Broome Community College, Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton University Community Schools and the NYSED Central/Western Region Community Schools Technical Assistance Center.
Let Us Dream is a non-profit organization, comprised of diverse programs for the holistic development of the youth implemented by local community leadership.
