The American Council on Education (ACE) recently sent a letter to the leadership of the House and Senate appropriations committees advocating for the preservation of Pell Grant program funding. In the letter, ACE urged committee members to ensure fiscal year (FY) 2024 funding dedicated to the Pell Grant program is not used to fill budget gaps in other programs while working within the discretionary spending caps imposed by the Fiscal Responsibility Act. As active advocates for federal student aid programs and initiatives aimed to increase affordability for low-income students, CSWE along with nearly 100 organizations, signed on to the letter in support.
