The School of Social Work at Bridgewater State University invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track teaching positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning September 2023. The School of Social Work houses two CSWE accredited programs, a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Social Work, a professional education program for practicing professionals, as well as a new major in Childhood Studies. Our School has experienced a period of enrollment growth and the addition of two program options-a BSW evening program and an MSW Saturday Program.
The Department
The School of Social Work (SSW) at Bridgewater State University is part of a cohesive campus community that provides professional opportunities for faculty advancement in teaching and scholarship and a clear path to tenure. Funding for faculty scholarship is available through the Center for the Advancement of Research and Scholarship as well as the Office of Teaching and Learning. There is also a significant institutional commitment and resources for undergraduate research and international engagement.
The SSW is committed to strengthening a justice-informed identity and supports diversity, equity and inclusion among its faculty, staff and students as an integral part of its strategic plan. This emphasis is reflected throughout the University's curricular and co-curricular activities.

| Essential Duties |
Teaching responsibilities will be in the undergraduate and/or graduate social work programs. Teaching assignments will depend on the expertise of the candidate and programmatic needs. Primary course responsibilities may include: human behavior and the social environment; the dynamics of diversity and oppression; practice with individuals, families or groups; and field seminar.
