Field Directors

Dear fellow small program field education staff, 

I'm the Practice Education Director at Colorado Mesa University's BSW program. Our program has a full-time faculty/director team of two, and we often find it challenging to address all the things we must do - even harder to address the things we'd like to do that aren't required. Over the past 6 months I've connected with other field education staff from very small programs like ours, and there seems to be considerable interest in coming together to share ideas and provide support to others in similar situations.

If you are interested in building a network of small program field directors and staff, I'd love to hear from you. I'm also interested in connecting with anyone who would like to brainstorm and potentially collaborate on small-program presentation proposals for future CSWE APMs. Many of the sessions I go to have great ideas but they're geared toward much larger colleges and universities that have considerably more capacity. I'd like to see more sessions - or even a separate track! - with actionable ideas for small programs.
