    The CSWE Public Policy Initiative (PPI) is sharing a funding opportunity announcement from the National Institute of Justice Research (NIJ) within the Department of Justice (DOJ).  The PPI is able to provide high-level context about this opportunity.

    The National Institute of Justice Research (NIJ) just released a funding opportunity titled "Research and Evaluation on Promising Reentry Initiatives, Fiscal Year 2021." NIJ is requesting proposals for rigorous research and evaluation projects to examine reentry initiatives that incorporate promising practices, strategies, or programs.  Specifically NIJ is interested in reentry initiatives that are designed to address violent, habitual recidivism, are initiated during an individual's incarceration and continues in the community, and addresses multiple criminogenic needs that can be addressed incrementally.  Full details can be found by viewing the full announcement at https://nij.ojp.gov/funding/opportunities/o-nij-2021-40002.  Additional grant details are below.
