Bio

I'm a marketing professional, social worker and author of the memoir,The Pornographer's Daughter (Skyhorse Publishing, 2014).

I started my career as a geriatric social worker and parlayed my interest in improving people's lives into legislative and communications work on Capitol Hill. I have also served in marketing and communications' roles at corporate start ups, non-profit organizations and advocacy organizations dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues, providing online graduate degrees and continuing education and improving policies to support behavioral health providers.

I currently work for the Columbia School of Social Work in the field education department supporting the online campus. I am also a board member of #MacroSW, an online community where social workers connect about macro practice. I was a marketing consultant who focused on providing services to non-profit organizations and personal brand coaching for social workers and human services professionals. I have written articles and blogs for Huffington Post, New York Journal of Books, Thrillist, ELLE Magazine (Australia), NASW News and Social Work Today to provide book reviews and cover mental health and pop culture topics. I also write a bi-monthly personal branding column Your Social Work Brand (#YourSWBrand) for New Social Worker Magazine. I was a contributor to The Daily Beast and published articles about the adult industry and the controversy surrounding pornography. I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Columbia University with a Master of Science in Social Work Degree.
