Hello Everyone,
I am new to this group and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Maria Paradiso (she/her) and I recently joined the field department at the University of South Florida's MSW Program by way of NYC/NJ/PA areas. I am serving students in USF's Online MSW Program.
The information-sharing on this feed has been so valuable as well as the support and understanding of field related issues!
Since joining USF, I've been busy recruiting new field placements throughout the Florida area and other placements scattered within the US. I am hopeful with the SAMHSA and HHS recently released funding and new funding increasing recruitment, hiring, education and training of school SWs, mental health and substance use treatment providers, it will have a positive impact on our SW placement pools. Positive meaning an increase to SW salaries, lower caseloads, organizational supports and perhaps... more paid field placement opportunities.
