    CSWE Government Relations (GR) is sharing the following forecasted funding opportunity from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  CSWE GR is able to provide high-level context about this future opportunity.

    The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a forecasted grant opportunity titled "Pilot Projects to Address Factors Contributing to Structural Racism in Public Health" (Pilot Projects Initiative).  This initiative is focused on supporting community-led coalitions with creating and implementing innovative approaches to address policies that contribute to health disparities and structural racism.  The Pilot Projects Initiative objectives include:

    1. "Assess policies that might create or perpetuate health disparities and contribute to structural racism";
    2. "Develop new policies or modify existing policies to reduce health disparities by mitigating factors contributing to structural racism" and;
    3. "Modify or develop and implement innovative practices to reduce health disparities by improving access to public health services in ways that mitigate the factors contributing to structural racism".

    The Pilot Projects Initiative solicitation is expected to be published in February 2022.  The estimated total program funding is $10 million and the award ceiling is $500,000.  More information regarding the initiative can be found here
