Hi Penny,
Flinders University Social Work doesn't have a policy either but I'm interested in this topic as well. Our students find it very difficult to financially manage 1,000 hours of placement. Some organisations would like to employ our students at the beginning of their final placement. Our professional association the AASW does allow for Work Based Placements but is usually for students already employed in their organisation at the point of their final placement. It would require organisations to adjust their job descriptions so that it appropriately reflects the role and responsibility of a student, and they would have to have much greater oversight and supervision. At the moment some organisations offer graduate internships.
Regards
Mary

Subject: Policy on Paid Internships
Hello,
I have a couple of agencies that are interested in offering a paid internship. I've looked on CSWE and it appears that each program sets up its own policies regarding a paid internship. If anyone is willing to share any policies they've created, I would be most appreciative. This is for a BSW program.
Thank you in advance
